Inaugural AGS Resident Research Forum Highlights Scholarship and Mentorship
The American Glaucoma Society successfully hosted its inaugural Resident Research Forum (RRF) on February 21, bringing together faculty, residents, medical students, and glaucoma fellows for an evening of research, mentorship, and connection.
The forum featured 68 residents presenting live posters and 62 medical students participating in a structured e-poster program, supported by over 45 faculty moderators and many glaucoma fellows. Small group discussions fostered meaningful engagement, allowing trainees to present their work, receive thoughtful feedback, and connect with leaders in the field.
In addition to scholarly exchange, the evening included a networking bingo scavenger hunt, encouraging cross-institutional conversation and camaraderie. Participants competed for ophthalmology-themed prizes and AGS swag, adding a fun and interactive element to the program.
The strong participation and enthusiasm underscored AGS’s commitment to elevating trainee scholarship, strengthening mentorship, and investing in the next generation of glaucoma specialists.
